Cannot detect remote tape library

Hi,

I am evaluating BE v22.

However when I try to use a tape library which is connected on another server I cannot seem to find a way to add it to the storage configuration.

Therefore I cannot evaluate the product.

Any documentation on how to use an external tape library ?

The tape library needs to be physically connected to the BE Server.

We have a server with an LTO-8 tape library and a standalone LTO-7 tape connected and both are working fine with other backup softwares.  But even after installing BE on the server itself it doesn`t recognize either tape device.  We cannot evaluate the product.  I have concerns about the reliability of the software.

If you have other backup software installed on the same system which are using these tape devices, there is a chance that this software has taken ownership of these devices and that's why BE cannot detect them.
Can you stop and disable the services of the other backup software, reboot the server and then recheck.
