Cannot install because of ISA server, port 3527?

Backup Exec'c pre-check is reporting port 3527 is in use. Stopping the Microsoft Firewall service (this is on an SBS 2000 server) gets by the problem, but of course I cannot leave it disabled because that's the only firewal in place (and there are no options for a change anytime soon, either).

I tried creating a rule in ISA Management that allowed 3527 UDP and TCP, but it still said the port was in use. How do I get BE to install and function properly in this scenario?

Hello,

Port 3527 is used by Backup Exec Message Queue. You can change the port if you so wish to. Refer to the following technote for steps on acheiving this:

Title: After a reboot or restarting the Backup Exec services, the Backup Exec Server Service fails to start with the following error: "An internal error (-14) occurred in object 10."

Revert in case you have any problems regarding this issue.
