Trying to install a remote agent to a XP Pro machine and get an "access denied error"
The story:
I have 3 agent licenses all present and correct, all 3 where installed, but I uninstalled 1 agent from a now decommissioned, so I have one spare.
I reboot decommissioned server - BE is removed, no agents etc
I then proceed to remote install the agent to the new server, thus re-using the "spare" license".
The new server is also XPPro + SP3 - firewall off
I connect as administrator using domain account as the server is in our domain - I get an "access denied" message.
I can connect from the BEWS server (the one I'm pushing out the agent from) as an adminstrator to the remote machine with no problem, i.e. \\my-server\c$ - all the relevant accounts are on the target machine, local admin and a domain admin accounts.
So, why cannot BEWS connect?
I have installed remote agents and few times and have never ahd this issue.

Well, carried out a local install and it went without issue, and I'm now running a full backup.
Any ideas why it should have failed? Or is just "one of those things"
