I have BE 2010 on a win2008r2 with SQL to backup the dbase.
All this as a VM.
the system went up in smoke and so i built a new vm and upon restoring the dbase via SQL the message implies the tape drives are not hte ones in the dbase i am trying to restore so it errors and wont let me restore the BE dbase.
How can i get BE or SQL to read in my backup dbase file??
TIA

Could you post the exact error message?

Have you ran a catalog on the tape? in addition, review this link http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH56694

Are you trying to restore the BE's database ?
If yes, once the server restore is complete, you can use BEUtility to restore the DB (As BE itself automatically takes a backup of the BEDB every day) No need to use T-SQL.
Have a look @ these KBs -

Using a virtual media server to access tape drives is an unsupported configuration.
