Cant backup MS-SQL 2005 servers

Hello All,

I have a windows 2003 svr with Exec 10.0d installed and sql agent for 2000. I can access the exec database but not anything else, I get a network connection failure error.

everything is installed locally and I dont understand why I can access the sql. I just notice the agent is for 2000 and the server is running 2005.

You need to upgrade to Backup Exec 10.1/d with Backup Exec 10.1 SP1

If the SQL server is a remote server you will need to re-push the agent.

10.1 is a free upgrade.

Hi,

You would need to install the hotfix 6 to enable SQL 2005 backups which is also included in the Service pack 1. Please let us know if the installation of SP 1 enables backups of the SQL 2005 database.
