Catalog issue when running a backup

We have a backup job that is only passing part of the job into the catalog. Basically when a systems admin goes to do a restore they have to re-catalog the tape to get the missing info. For example the backup job sucessfully backups up
H:
S:
W:

but when you look at the catalog information which the restore function refers to only H: and W: are listed. Once the tape has been manually cataloged all the drives are listed.

What could be causing this? The set-up is 1 cluster server that is talking to a separate SQL./SSO server. The O/S is Windows 2003 Enterprise with SP1 and the Veritas level is 10 with SP1 and hotfix 19. Would applying SP4 for version 10 help?

Hi,

It is not possible to restore the data without catalogging the tape. You need to catalog the tapes.
