Certance LTO3 library error: incompatible storage media

MWinters
Not applicable
We installed a new Certance LTO-3 tape drive yesterday, and although it will run backup jobs, I cannot Label, Inventory, or Erase media in the drive. When I try, I get this error:

The job failed with the following error: Library error - incompatible storage media detected in robotic library.

Now, we do not have a robotic library, I don't know why this error makes it look like we do. We ran a successful backup last night, and I have had success at restoring.

I have tried labeling several different tapes, with the same result.

In addition to this error, in the server's event log, there is this system event:

Event Type:Error

Any ideas on how this can be fixed? We are running BE 9.1 SP2.

Hello,

This problem may occur due to tape device drivers , firmware related issues. We suggest you to refer to the following steps to resolve this issue: - Update the firmware of the tape device to the latest.
- Update the SCSI controller card drivers and firmware to the latest.
- Click on the "Devices" tab | Right click on the tape drive properties and ensure that proper media type is listed.
