Cleaning cartridge wont clean

After installing Veritas BackupExec 10.0 on a SBS2003 standard edition machine and a certance / travan / Seagate drive, the cleaning cartridge will not clean anymore. I am aware that cleaning is only supported on autoloaders but I'd expect the system to clean normally when inserting the cartridge, should I not. Shutting down all BackupExec services will not help.

Phytosan,

I would suggest attempting to try this tape in another tape drive. You should be able to place the tape in the drive, and remove it without any intervention from Backup Exec.

If you need specific instructions about how to clean the device properly, I would contact your hardware manufacturer.

Thanks for the help. I found out that now the system actually cleans correctly while before it was just winding the tape around. I interpereted the change in performance as a problem while it was a solution.
