Combining tapes

I have a bunch of tapes with a single full backup job on them.  Is it possible to merge several of these tapes onto one new one and maintain the catalog info?

If you have two or more tape drives, certainly

Create a Duplicate job, Overwrite only, to duplicate the first tape to the new larger one, then as many Append jobs as you can fit on the tape or until you run out of old tapes

Unless you have two tape drives, you would have to duplicate the tapes to disk first, and then duplicate them to tape again.  When you duplicate to tape, you can just create 1 job and select all the backups that you want to duplicate to tape.  If 1 tape is insufficient you would be prompted for a second tape.

You may also try duplicating the backup jobs to backup to disk folder and then duplicate the job again to the same tape.
