I hope that this message comes out clearly.
I back up a server everyday that has files going all the way back to 2003. I was asked to back up the files from 2003-2005, 2006-2007, and 2008. Going forward, my boss has asked me to back up only the files from 2009 on. I have been asked to do a full backup, mainly because of ease of restoration.
The server that is being backed up stores information in folders on a week-to-week basis, and the new week starts on Sunday. When a new week starts, the new folder for that week is automatically created and files are saved to that new folder.
I was wondering if someone could possibly give me a process to perform a full backup only on the files from this year. Basically, I don't want to perform a differential or incremental backup. Instead, I would like a full backup of the files from this year only and for Backup Exec to automatically save the new folders when they are created. I was told that I would have to manually choose all of the new folders, but I don't want to do that.
I hope this makes sense.
Thanks.
