We are running Backup Exec 2010 R3, currently running D2D2T with two standalone LTO 5 drives. The duplicate jobs take a long time and require too much manual intervention swapping tapes. We just purchased a tape library with two LTO 6 drives. We want to see if it's possbile to just have all of the tapes in one large partition in the library and just have Backup Exec use whatever tape is available (similar to how Backup Exec manages the .bkf files). This would make things much easier for tape swapping. We could just have a set for Week 1, Week 2, etc and not have to keep track of multiple different sets of media for the different jobs.
The question is - would this work well or not?
