DLO deleting computers hangs console.

Hi,

I'm finding that when I remove computers from my DLO media server console, it makes the console unresponsive for up to an hour! - especially if I'm deleting multiple computers.

Does anyone have a solution for this, or perhaps even an explanation?

Does the delay occur when it needs to remove the network data folder for each deletion?

Would it help if I upgraded from MSDE to SQL Server 2000?

Is there a way around this or a better way to tidy up old computers from the database?

Hi richard,

The delay does occur is cause by deleting the data in the user data folder.

I do not believe upgrading to SQL 2000 will help much .

If I simply wanted to remove the computers from the database / console, without the overhead of deleting the user data, could I run the delete_machine stored procedure in the database - giving it the machine id?
