Decrease in Performance with Exchange 2000

Currently our backup system for our Exchange 2000 has been incredibly slow lately.

We were able to complete the backup of our Excahange server with the average transfer speed of 145 MB/min. Now its performance has greatly decreased to as low as 45 MB/min. What would be reasons of this quick performance drop?

Hello,

Have you installed the Exchange Agent on the media server.
Is it a local Backup or a remote backup?

Stop the anti virus service if its running during backups.
Also refer to the technotes given below.
