Dell PowerVault 124t won't work with Veritas 10

I cannot get our pv-124t to work with Veritas 10. The tape library and the tape drive show up in the device manager, and the tape drive shows up in Veritas devices, but the tape library will not show up. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, shut them both down and powered up the pv-124t first, but nothing seems to work. What should I do?

Hello,

please check whether the device is "tested" by backup Exec with the help of the list below:

If yes then please install latest veritas drivers.

Backup Exec 10.0 for Windows Servers robotic library Hardware Compatibility List (HCL)
http://support.veritas.com/docs/274348

Backup Exec 10.0 for Windows Servers Standalone Drives Hardware Compatibility List (HCL)
http://support.veritas.com/docs/274347

Latest veritas drivers:

VERITAS Backup Exec (tm) 10.0.5520 - Device Driver Installer (20050815) - Includes Tape Driver Release (20050115) and Robotic Library Release (47) (Intel Only)
http://support.veritas.com/docs/278408

If the device is not tested in the hardware compatibility list then please install the latest OEM drivers.

Please update the results

I, too, have this problem. It IS in the HCL list as tested. I downloaded the latest drivers for it but these only work with 10.0.rev 5520. I am running 10.0 rev 5484. How can I upgrade to the latest version?

This is the download link:

This is the SP 1 for it:

On your Autoloader problem:

Make sure your SCSI ID's are correct. They're usually 5 for the loader, and 6 for the drive. You can change the numbers on the front panel (I have a 122T, it's similar). Make sure that the SCSI cable is disconnected from the server when you do this.

Turn the autoloader off, re-connect the loader to the server, and turn the loader on first. Make sure it's completely up and running, then turn your server on. It should see the autoloader as Dell 1and the drive under it as Dell 2, with the slots of the loader under Dell 2.

Contact me if you wish to.

Cheers for the loinks Andrew. I'll see if it works with the latest release. On the SCSI side, I heard that you shouldn't have devices set to ID6 now either (as well as 0,1,7) as this is reserved for something ekse now (SCAM/SKAM?). Anyway, makes no idfference as I have it set to 2 for AL and 3 for Drive.

This works but you MUST use the latest version of BEWS 10.0 i.e. build 5520 along with the latest drivers.
