Disk Space Low

While BackupExec for Windows Servers 9.1 is backing up our Exchange Mailboxes, the Drive C starts running low on disk space. Since the Exchange Store is on Drive D, why is drive C running low? BackupExec must be creating temporary files on drive C, how do we change this to drive D???

This is on the media server, right? Is backupexec installed on that drive? Backupexec does create a lot of temp files

Yes, the media server is located on and dedicated to our Exchange 2003 server. Is there a way to adjust the temp directory?

Well, you could set the TEMP environmental variable, you could move the \Catalogs dir ( see http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/264680.htm)
or you could move the entire install location see http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/260054.htm

Thanks for the information! Our catalogs are presently 1GB, do they tend to grow or shink in size during backups?

Unless you have selected to trim catalogs, the \Catalogs directory will continue to grow as long as new tapes are added.

When BackupExec re-uses a tape, it should delete the old catalog file, so if you don't add new tapes, the directory should be fairly constant after a while.

In your case, sounds like moving the catalog directory would be the easiest, since it doesn't require a re-boot, just stopping/starting the BackupExec Services
