Does Backup Exec Media Server need to be installed on domain member?

Hello everyone,

Was just hoping someone could confirm if Backup Exec needs to be installed on a server that is a domain member if I want to backup domain servers such as Domain Controllers and one Exchange 2010 server. What is best practice?

Best practice would be installing Backup Exec on a server which is part of a Domain. 

If BE is installed in a workgroup environment then for exchange backups you may face the

issue mentioned in the below article.

When setting up your Backup exec service account make sure the account have rights as per the following document
