We have been using the Veritas Mac agent successfully with PowerPC based Mac OS 10.4 computers and a Windows Server 2003 Backup Exec 10d server. However we are having problems with a new Intel based Mac OS 10.4 computer. Are there any know problems or has the last release of the agent been test and or gotten to work by anyone on an Intel Mac?
The computer shows up on the server in the selection list but when trying to select it or any volumes we receive a timeout error.
Hello Jeff, We will need more Information on this. - Could you give us the exact Error message? - Is the Processor type etc the same apart from that it is based on an Intel Platform?
Thank you for your response. Unfortunately the error was mine. The default of the OS image had the block UDP traffic function of the Mac OS X system firewall enabled. Allowing UDP traffic allowed the backup selection to be made from the Windows server for a Mac client (Intel or PPC).
