Drive goes offline

Hi
We have a Windows 2003 server with Veritas 9.1 on it and we are using a Seagate Dat 06241 tape drive and a Seagate Scorpion-240 Autoloader.

The problem we have is the tape drive keeps going off line we have had the drive, autoloader and SCSI card it is connected to replaced without any improvement, I am now coming to the conclusion this is a driver problem.

When I first installed this I used the Veritas drivers and this blue screened the server since then I have been using IBM drivers and this works intermittently, has any one had this issue before and how did you resolve it?

Regards

Anthony

First check if you drive is supported:
http://support.veritas.com/docs/282347

Check also the SCSI settings, and look for any event ids 7,9,11 or 15 in the sysytem event log.
Have a look at the following technote for troubleshooting issues with hardware.
