Drives showing as <unknown drive> - Disabled on certain servers in SAN

I am currently running 9.1 with SSO on a SAN. We are backing up 7 servers on this SAN. There are two Dell 136T with 4 drives each hooked up to the SAN. The machine that is set as primary SSO sees both tape libraries and all 8 drives fine. The other machines see anywhere from 2 to all 8 drives as - Disabled. When using SSO and setting a primary server, do all of the Secondary SSO machines then look towards the primary to get drive and device pool information, or is this something that needs to be set up on each server? The primary server has the most recent Veritas device drivers loaded - do I also need to load these device drivers again on all of the other servers to ensure they see all of the drives?

Hello Anthony,

Thankyou for your query.

You may want to refer to this .pdf file.

http://ftp.support.veritas.com/pub/support/products/Backup_Exec_for_WindowsNT/247547.pdf

And yes we recommend that you install the lateset device drivers on the primary as well as the secondary SAN servers.

Let us know if this helped.

The latest device drivers have been loaded across the SAN -- still am recieving the same problem. An odd aside, an older 8.6 unit with a standalone library recieved the same problems yesterday - nothing has been able to fix this one either. Some windows patches were applied last week, are there any known issues with the recent Microsoft security patches?

Hello,

There are no known issues regarding microsoft security patches and drive configuration.

This problem may occur, if the association between the drive and the changer hardware was not correctly established
