Edit and Edit Backup

When I right click an existing job in BE 2012, I see an option for "edit" and "edit backup". What is the difference between the 2 ?

No difference as such. "Edit" allows you to edit just a backup definition, whereas "Edit backups" allows you to edit one or more backups.
