Ejecting Tape

Paul_Harvey_2
Not applicable
I am running Symantec Backup Exec 10d for windows Server.

Platform Windows Server 2003

I have a HP Storage Works 1/8 Auto Loader connected to the server.

The problem I have is that the device can be seen by the software and it is recognised by the software and comes up in the robotic library. The problem I am having is the tape does not eject.

When I select only of the tapes within the drive the eject tape is greyed out. I have also ticked eject tape after job, and the tape still does not eject.

I hope you can help.

Thanks Paul

"eject tape" when job completes should return the tape to its original slot.

If you use policies, you can create a policy that has a "backup" template and is followed by a "export media" template.

Hi,

Eject Media option is for Stand alone tape drives. This feature is not used
for Autoloaders. You need to manually eject the tape or run import/export commands in BE.

Please unlock the library and try ejecting the tape. Refer: http://support.veritas.com/docs/269843
