End Marker Unreadable

I get the error below on my failed veritas job and then one of my backup tapes shows up as End Marker Unreadable

I have tried new tapes and cleaned the drive but still have the same problem.


Storage device "DELL 1" reported an error on a request to write data to media.

Error reported:
Data error (cyclic redundancy check).

This could be caused by either a dirty tape drive, bad media, or a SCSI problem.V-79-57344-34028 - Error reading/writing data from/to the media.


Any Ideas?

I have looked at this document and checked and changed various things but it still has made no difference. Still getting 'end marker unreadable'

Is this a bug in veritas software 10d and if so is there a fix or a workaround for this?
