Error: Could not start Pre Job Command

Hi all,

I have searched this forum and tried many suggestions
- put my commands into a BATch file
- hard coded the location of the batch file
- Ensure backup Exec Remote Services logs on as local system
but I still get the following error message.

Error: Could not start Pre Job Command < c:\aastopfs.bat >. Error (2): The system cannot find the file specified

I have all the latest patches installed

Any further suggestions appreciated

Hello Gary,


Initially, we suggest you to check the *.bat file by running it from the command line.

If it runs successfully rom the command line, move the *.bat files to the Veritas directory :\Program Files\Veritas\Backup EXec\NT\*.bat and verify the results

Hi,

After a lot of trail and error I finally figured it out.
The pre job batch file has to be on the remote server that I am trying to backup, not the server I am running the backup from.
