The backup last night never happened, because of this error.

The Backup Exec Server service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 1 (s). The following corrective action will be taken in 0 miliseconds: No Action

This event happened 10/12/2005, 10:09 am est.

I did perform a restore 6 minutes earlier, but I logged of the server right after the restore.

Why did the service terminate?
What can be done to avoid this issue?

It depends on the hardware configuration. If it is set correctly or not. It also depends on what you are trying to backup.
You will have to examine the event log to find out the root of the issue. Also try to break the backups into smaller ones and observe with which backup the issue of the service termination comes.

The hardware and backup job have been the same for the last 7 months. This is the first time the program has terminated.
