Hi,
Don't delete the Catalogs as it means you have to catalog every single tape to add it back again in order to have that information in the BEDB.
Just get copies and run the upgrade. It might take a while, but if you're doing it during a non-backup window you're going to be good-to-go.
Thanks!

Hi Craig,
Can we install the BE 15 on a server 2008 R2? because our BE 2010 R2 is currently running on a server 2008 R2.
Thanks

Yes, Win 2008 R2 is compatible with BE 15. And since, you will be backing up Exchange 2013, BE 15 is to be installed on an OS running minimum Win 2008 R2 SP1

These are the steps we are going to take to upgrade from currently running BE 2010 R2 to BE 2015, am I on the right path?
1. Download the BE 2010 R3.
2. Copy folder catalog to other location.
3. Stop BE services.
4. install the BE 2010 R3.
4. Download BE 15, stop BE 2010 R3 Services and install it.
5. we can use BE 2015 for backup exchange 2010, untill we upgrade our exchange 2010 to exchange 2013.

Hi VJ,
THanks as always for your reply,
we are not going to install the BE 15 right after upgrading to the 2010 R3, can we keep on useing our current licenses of BE 2010 R2?
Thanks

Yes you can, BE 2010 R2 licenses can be used with BE 2010 R3 licenses.
Thanks!

Since 2010 R3 is an intermediate upgrade, even if you do not enter licenses, it is fine.
And if you wish to enter the licenses, then yes, 2010 R2 licenses will work with 2010 R3 also.
