Exchange 5.5 Public Folders

My Backup Server is running Windows 2003 SP1 w/ Backup Exec 10.0. My mail server is running Windoiws NT 4.0 w/ Exchange 5.5. When I try to backup the public folders I get the following error: (v-79-57344-65033 - Directory not found. Cannot backup directory.) I ran a test backup of this job to check the logon credentials and everything passed. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hello,

Please refer to the technote given below.

(title) "The directory is invalid" (a000fe09 HEX or e000fe09 HEX) is reported when a backup job fails

The KB article talks about a directory that isn't present while a backup is running. This is not the case with me.
1) The Public Folders are present and have not been deleted
2) I have recreated a mailbox on the mail server and received that same (v-79-57344-65033) error message. Please note this error message is for Public Folders and not a directory....

Hello,

You have mentioned in your post that the mail server is running on NT4. Kindly note that the Backup Exec v10.0 does not support NT4 Operating System.

Please refer to the below mentioned SCL:

Backup Exec 10.0 for Windows Servers - Software Compatibility List (SCL)
http://support.veritas.com/docs/264484

Therefore, cannot gurantee the functioning of Backup Exec during the backups.

Regards
