Exchange Backup \ Restore Issue

hello,

we have backup exec 10 installed in our environment. We had previously logged a call with veritas about the server intermittently asking for more tapes, even when tapes were available. After a few fixes we thought the issue was resolved but it has started to occur again.

We can normally make the backup work by putting tapes into scratch, unfortunately even this does not seem to be working however the reason for this thread is that we hare having major issues with out Exchange Server.

If the backup overnight asks for another tape during the backup of the Exchange Server, the bakup goes into a 'Queued' state, in the morning, users will complain that the cannot access Outlook.

This can only be resolved by a reboot. Also when performing a restore to a Recovery Storage Group, when the backup is nearin g its end, the information stores hang and the server has to be rebooted again.

This is causing us major problems as we cannot perform mailbox restores and cannot get consistent backups. can anyone help

Hello,

Have you selected AOFO option for the exchange backups?
If yes we recommend that you do not select the AOFO option?
Also do you get the queued state only for exchange backups?
