Exchange backup: corrupt file in the root of the Exchange store.

Hi,

This is the error message I see:

WARNING: "\\SBS2003\Microsoft Exchange Mailboxes\䅁8B212E3E44315C1079C41FE32DB0A6A4083FF4BAFC1FBC51" is a corrupt file.
This file cannot verify.
Database or database element is corrupt

It's not possible to exclude this file simply because it's in the root of the Exchange store. In the selections window (properties of the backup job) this file isn't visible. I only see mailboxes in this window. Does anyone have a clue how to exclude this file?

Best Regards,
Dirk

Hello Dirk,

Is the Antivirus running during the backup? If it is please stop and disable the Antivirus during the backup and check if you receive the same error.

Please go through ths document:

How to prevent Backup Exec from failing a backup operation when encountering corrupt files (excluding Microsoft Exchange files)
