i am currently trying to restore an individual mailbox from a backup set which was moved onto a removable disk.
after cataloging the files and starting a restore job i do not see the mail database listed only the exchange logs.
i understand that this is because i moved the files with windows rather then doing a duplication job.
is there anyway of restoring the mail from this backup set?

Hi,
Create a B2D folder in BE, and copy the backup files to this folder. Then do the catalog job, and if necessary, run an inventory.
try the restore again!

Try restoring from a full backup , I guess the backup set from which you are trying to restore is incremental

Make sure you have the option "use storage media-based catalogs" enabled under Tools\Options\Catalogs.
If it is disabled enable it and try to re-catalog the media.
