Exchanging Backup fails to complete running groupshield 6.0

After installing GroupShield 6.0 (with all updates including service pack 3) backupexec fails to complete exchange backups. (exchange 2003)

Pre groupshield the back up job took only 2 hours to backup 16GB of data. Now the job runs over 25 hours and still doesn't complete. (data is still the same size).

I have tried stopping groupshield services whilst running the backup but this has no effect on the backup time.

Please can someone help
