I have an issue with one of my backup jobs. I am using version 10.1 and I see the folowing errors in BackUP Exec:

Job ended: Wednesday, March 22, 2006 at 7:38:45 AM
Completed status: Failed
Final error: 0xe00084f8 - The network connection to the Backup Exec Remote Agent has been lost. Check for network errors.
Final error category: Resource Errors

Backup- TBCB2B02AOFO: Initialization failure on: "\\TBCB2B02\C:". Advanced Open File Option used: No.
The network connection failed during the snapshot. Check the network, and then run the job again.
V-79-57344-65072 - The connection to target system has been lost. Backup set canceled.


And on the remote machine in the application log I see this:

Faulting application beremote.exe, version 10.1.5629.0, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 5.2.3790.1830, fault address 0x0003248b.

What would you suggest I do to correct the problem. I am going to reinstall the remote agent and see how the backup progresses tonight.

Hi Fred,

This error will occur at each job while it does the Shadow Copy Component backup.

To resolve this issue you can refer to the following document with the number:

Are you using AOFO option and if yes, what do you select under that option.

None of the suggestions apply to this situation as I already found that link before I posted and tried all the suggestions. What next?

Hello Fred !

Please install the latest patches of Backup exec. We recommend you Hotfix 24 which will give you a new beremote.exe(That's the Remote Agent ).
