HP Ultrium-4 1840 SCSI external device incorectly identified as WORM drive

I'm using an evaluation version of Backup Exec 12 on Windows Server 2008 x64 and the external HP Ultrium-4 1840 SCSI tape drive (800Gb native) is being incorrectly identified as a WORM device.
 
As such all non-WORM media (HP C7974A) is being detected as WORM media, and as such backups cannot occur as required.
 
Any help would be appreciated.

Do you have HPDAT.SYS driver v1.5.3.1 or higher loaded?  You will need to contact HP for this driver.

Ok I got that problem sorted out by downloading and installing the latest Symantec tape drivers and using the device wizard to update the drivers.
 
However a new problem is occuring now - I will create a new thread to deal with it.
