Hardware error 0xe00084ed

Hi,
I have the following situation. I'm installing a new Windows 2003 server with all available O/S patches. Attempting to configure Backup Exec with the following configuration:
Backup Exec 10.1 build 5629
LSI Logic 8953U SCSI host adapter, Microsoft driver 5.2.3970.1830 dated 10/1/2002
Tandberg SLR7 tape drive, BIOS 0595, Veritas driver 5.1.1.1 dated 4/6/2004

I have replaced the SCSI host adapter, cable and tape drive, and used six different tapes. I have reinstalled all drivers. When I attempt a backup either manually or on the scheduler, I receive this error:
Final error: 0xe00084ed - A hardware error occurred.
Final error category: Backup Device Errors
For additional information V-79-57344-34029

I have read through this document and followed all applicable instructions. I am not using a changer so much of it is useless. As far as I can tell this must be a driver problem with Veritas, since I believe I have eliminated the possibility of a hardware fault.

Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

The solution to this problem was to remove the LSI Logic SCSI host adapter, and replace it with an Adaptec 2940 card. I don't know whose drivers are at fault, Microsoft's or Veritas' but one of the drivers obviously doesn't work as advertised, even thought this drive is on the approved list.
