I have a mixture of backup-to-disk and backup-to-tape jobs. Verify has run on every backup job for the past 15 years. I have never had Verify alert me to a problem.
I am thinking Verify is now an unnecessary insurance policy that requires time, and tape drive wear, with little reasonable benefit.
Has anyone had a Verify experience in the modern era that would convince me to not turn it off ?
