How do I backup and restore BackUp Exec itself?

I have a server running BackUp Exec Server 12.5 on Windows Server 2003.  This server has two hard disks one mirroring the other.  However, recently both disks went down within 3 days of each other and both had to be replaced.  Easy enough to reinstall everything but of course all my BackUp records had gone and I had to set up everything again.  How do I back up my BackUP Exec database and restore it if necessary.  I have installed BackUp Exec on a virtual server and tried several things but none of them have worked.

The quick answer is that, by default,  BackupExec creates a database backup every morning at 0400, called BEDB.BAK.  You can use BEUTIL to restore the database from that

For a little more detail take a look at http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/319367.htm
The title is "How to move Backup Exec for Windows Servers", but includes all the bits and pieces you need, spelled out
