How to backup licence

Hello to all the team,

I installed Veritas Backup Exec 20.1 on my server (Windows Server 2008 R2). Since the update to version 20.2, the application has become unstable.

I have a question: How to back up licenses if I uninstall and reinstall Backup Exec? If I uninstall Backup Exec and reinstall it, can I use again the licenses without problem?

Below the license description:

  • 13811-M3-13 BASIC 12 MONTHS RENEWAL FOR BACKUP EXEC SERVER ED WIN 1 SERVER ONPREMISE STANDARD PERPETUAL LICENSE GOV

  • 12593-M3-13 BASIC 12 MONTHS RENEWAL FOR BACKUP EXEC AGENT FOR APPLICATIONS AND DBS WIN 1 SERVER ONPREMISE STANDARD PERPETUAL LICENSE GOV

 Thank a lot

You can always retrieve your licences from our licensing portal if you lose them (as long as your entitlement has been linked to your Veritas Account)  lots of info on our license portal available in this article (and the attached PDF files at the bottom of it)

https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.100040083

Your licenses can also be found as SLF files on your current server at:

C:\ProgramData\Veritas Shared\Licenses\Backup Exec\<version>

OR

C:\ProgramData\SymantecShared\Licenses\Backup Exec\<version>

depending on the specific version of BE you are using.
