How to tell what I'm getting for a compression ratio?

Running BackupExec 8.6.

Currently backing up about 60GB of data on a 50/130GB tape backup drive.

I'm trying to figure out how much life I have left on my existing drive before I'll need to upgrade.

Is there a way to find out exactly how much space I'm using on the tape with my backup?

I assume you are using Hardware compression?

Try a run with Software compression.  It won't be exactly the same, but will be very close. Each job step summary should report the compression achieved for that step
