IDE drive compatibilty --- initio inic1620 S-ATA Adapter

Is Veritas Backupexec 10d.01 compatible with the following adapter:

initio inic1620 S-ATA Adapter

I also have a Quantum tape DLT-V4

I can see everthing, however, I can't erase a dept, it says device error.

When I installed the demo version, it asked me to install the driver which came with the product. I did and rebooted.

What could i be doing wrong?
