IDR - To protect a workstation with IDR option

Hello,

I'm using Veritas Backup exec 9.1 italian version, with IDR option, on a Windows 2003 server. From the server, I'm trying to protect a workstation (windows XP Pro - SP2) in the LAN with the IDR option, but when the wizard start to create the bootable cd image, I get this error: "unable to open the file: \\server\c$\programmi\veritas\backup exec\NT\IDR\disk1\51wsetup1.it_ ", and the image is not created. I searched for this file on the server directory, but I didn't find it. I have another backup exec installed on a different server, but even there I didn't find anything.

At the same time, in the pop-up wizard, I get this message:

It's the first time I try to protect a workstation with IDR, usally I use IDR for the server and I haven't problems.

Any help will be appreciate.

1. Check whether the data path and alternate path are the same as the registry.
Please check the technote to verify the same:

2. If it is the same then then run repair installation and then verify the result.

Hi, thank you for your reply.

I did everything you told me, but the problem is still the same. I checked the data path and alternate path, they are the same as the registry. Than, I ran successfully the repair installation, but nothing has changed.

Any other ideas?

Is your CD which you are using the create IDR recovery media service pack integrated?

I'm sorry but your suggestions didn't solve the problem. I installed successfully the veritas SP 2, but the error message is still the same. Regarding your question, I'm using a basic windows xp pro installation cd, service pack is not included.
