IDR from HP DAT72 USB?

The HCL indicates that this drive is supported but also adds the note that IDR is not supported.

What is involved with getting IDR to work with this drive? Is it just an enhancement request? Or is it simply impossible?

Yes, as mentioned in the HCL, IDR is not supported with a USB drive.

This is a formal request to add IDR capability to the USB drive. Please escalate this to devleopment.

From what I've been reading, SCSI is the past and the trend is toward USB for tape drives (especially external ones). So please make this a priority.
