Information Store Recovery Error Message

We are currently using BE 11d on a Windows 2003 media server. I back up Exchange 2003 server regularly to disk and then tape. Jobs are completing successfully. We had our Exchange server go down over the weekend. I am trying to restore the IS and I keep getting a message " Information Store Callback function call ErrESECBRestoreCom...............error 0xC80003FE a disk I/O error occurred."

We are working with a Microsoft Exchange person, but we do not understand why we can not restore the databases when all appears good from the backup. I'm calling on any Symantec folks to help please.

Are you restoreing to RSG, trying to restore the IS to the original or restoring all the mailboxes to an original IS?

Are you restoring from the tape? Does the disk you are staging to have enough disk space, have the right permissions?
