Initialization failure when Backup Exec tries to backup volume with VSS enabled

We are running Backup Exec 2010 R2.  The following error is logged each time Backup Exec tries to backup a volume on a Windows Storage Server 2003 R2 system that has VSS enabled.

- A0F0: Initialization failure on: "\\host.domain.com\D:". Advanced Open File Option used: Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS).
V-79-10000-11217 - VSS Snapshot error. The Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS) snapshot failed. Make sure that all provider services and tasks are running. Check the Windows Event Viewer for details.

Does anyone have any information on how to troubleshoot this issue please?  Any help would be much appreciated.

Refer to http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH53383

Install VSS roll up patch for Win 2003 R2 server (reboot is required post installation)

Do not select AOFO for database backups. Its a best practice to segrigate database and flat file

backups.

Yo can also try to Use the Advanced Open File Option Wizard to increase the maximum cache file size or change the cache file location on the target machine as you are getting error on the D Drive and it might be a space related issue
