Hey, I like to install BE2010R2 on Server 2008 R2 using an Oracle (Express) database.
Does anyone know an article describing this ?
Background:
On this server VMWare vCenter is installed.
When BE is already installed, I am not able to install vCenter, because Ports are blocked.
So it´s not working when both products installing its own microsoft sql express edition

Hi chussi,
Not possible...you cannot use Oracle as a DB for BE.
If you download the BE 2010 SCL, please refer to the section: Backup Exec Database Repository Compatibility on pg. 45.
SQL Express 2005/SQL 2005 and up are the only supported DB applications you can host the BEDB on.

As craig said not supported and compatible , you can put this as an enhancement request so if more number of people vote on ur Idea Engineering might look into it ...
