Insufficient Online or Nearline Media

Jim_Erickson
Not applicable
Just changed my old tape drive to a new Dell Powervault.

I have deleted the old drive and media. I added the drive with no problems.

I have 5 tapes loaded in the autoloader and tape 1 is mounted.

I set up a new backup Job specifying the new drive.

I tried to run a test run and I get the error: Insufficient online or nearline media

Under the Media tab in the Media set I created it shows no media but I can not figure out how to add the media so they show up.

Please help

Thank you,

Jim Erickson

Hello,

This happens since the tape is physically insrted but backup exec is not aware of the availability of tapes. For this one needs to inventory the tapes so that they now show up in the device tab under the tape drive. You may then run jobs to these tapes.
