Hello,
Do you mean that you want to take full backups on disk and then also have the same data on tape too? You also need to take incremental backups?
You can use the 'duplicate jobs' feature in Backup exec 10.0 which will help you achieve the desired effect. You can duplicate either an existing backup job or a scheduled one. Refer to page 294-296 of the administrators manual for backup exec for more information on the above. You can download the manual at the following link:
http://support.veritas.com/docs/269777
Additionally you can refer to the following technote too:
Title: How to configure duplicate jobs in VERITAS Backup Exec (tm) 9.x / 10.0 for Windows Servers
http://support.veritas.com/docs/256096
You can also use the synthetic backup feature whereby you dont have to perfom recurring full backups. You can assemble a full baseline backup and subsequent incremental backups to have a single large full backup on tape. Refer to page 902 onwards of the administrator's manual for more information on the same.
Hope the above information answers your question. In case of further doubts, do write back to the forum. However if we do not hear from you within two business days, this post would be marked ‘assumed answered’ and would be moved to ‘answered questions’ pool.
Regards.
