I have a PVT 132T with 2 x LTO2 drives attached to a 2850 on a single dual channel scsi card. 2 fiber cards connect same server to an AX100. Win 2003 with BE 10d.
I seem to have an intermitant problem whereas a job will fail, usually times out on 0 bytes complete, and then whichever tape drive it was using simply gets ignored by BE. The other jobs chug along using the 1 remaining drive.
The drive is visble, online and enabled but jobs just won't use it, they just sit there saying there is no device available.
It has happened to both tape units and it is always different jobs that seem to cause the fault. The library stays like this until it is re-booted.
Any Ideas Anyone ?
