Job status stays QUEUED

Hello,

Since few weeks we have often problems with our backup. During the backup the job status is going to the status QUEUED and stays in that status.

Our situation is as follows.
We have one backup server (BEWS 9.1 -Windows 2003 server Standard edition) with removable SATA HD (200GB). We created in BE 9.1 Backup-to-Disk device and this one in "mounted" to the removable drive. The backup files are already on the backup server. Tuesday night we create a full backup and the following nights (4 times) we create incremental backups. The maximum backup-to-disk files are set tot 1 GB.

During one of the incremental backups BEWS stops the backup. When we cancel the backup and we start it again the job stays QUEUED with a 0 byte counter... The only way is to remove/format the removable HD and start the full backup job. The backup-to-disk device is still started (and thus not paused).

We noticed that last two times that in the map x:\VERITAS\B2D\ the are 99 objects/files. More specific 97 bkf-files, "Changer.cfg" and "Folder.cfg". Is there a problem to create 100 or more files in that map?

Who can tell me what the problem is and/or how we can solve this problem?

Thanks!

Regards,
DiVa

Hello,
It could be that backup exec is not able to access the device during the backup, please check for availability of space. Also if the device goes offline during the backup. Do you have any alerts during this backup.
