Job won't auto cancel

When running an incr on my Exchange 2000 server, sometime the job will not finish.  Under Priority and Availability I have check "Enable automatic cancellation for this selection list" to 5 hours.  This is the only box checked.

But many of times I have had an incr job running well over 10 hours.

Why won't the job cancel?

Are you using AOFO during the job?  I have run across this a few times were the job was sitting in a cancel pending state trying to release the AOFO cache file. 

Also when the job is supposed to cancel at the 5 hour mark, was is the current status of the job?

No AOFO being used.

The job just wont cancel.  It just is still running.
