Our Server, Red Hat Linux AS 3 Oracle 10g Database Server, hung the last three nights at 12:30AM approximately each night. After pursuing trouble tickets with IBM and Red Hat they both found no issues with the server. Each night the server would hang. It was still running but the terminal and all internet connections would go down. After a reboot everything was back to normal. On the third time we put the Veritas jobs for the Linux machine on hold, this was due to the fact that Veritas was in the middle of a backup job on the box each night that it went offline.
Now that Veritas is not running backups everything is working fine. Veritas had been successfully backing up this machine for three months prior to this.
The backup job itself terminates with the following errors:

Anyone have a similar issue, or any idea as to what the problem might be? When the machine went offline no errors were performed on the Red Hat Linux machine. Also these files are offline files in that they are hot and cold backups that we manually run of oracle. They are never in use and are completely static.
