Linux uname length

The error that I'm getting is...

ERROR: ndmpdConfigGetHostInfo: uname error: File name too long.

Changing the hostname's length will make it work, but I'm wondering if there any way to work around this error without changing the length of the hostname.

Thanks

Hello,

- It appears that you are getting this error during a backup, are you using the ralus agent or the legacy agent?

Hello,

We suggest you to add the host/computer name and IP address of Linux machine correctly in hosts file of the Media server (C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc\)
Add the host name \computer name and IP address of the Media server in hosts file of the Linux machine.

Open RALUS.CFG file and enter the IP address of the Media server.

http://support.veritas.com/docs/272524

Restart Backup Exec services and check the results.

We hope this helps. The error generally occurs due to incorrect name resolution
